There are no doubt uncountable advantages of being a workaholic – your boss loves you, you are an asset for your company and you get paid hefty sums. But, somewhere down the lane, in your bid to make money and earn a name you tend to forget that there is a life beyond that and this is where workaholism becomes a pain for you. If you are into home based businesses then the chances of becoming a home workaholic and getting affected by it is much greater. This is mainly because you do not have any fixed office timings and you tend to take your family members for granted thinking that you are at home anyways.
Here are some of the advantages as well as the disadvantages of being a home workaholic and then you may decide which path to choose, or what balance to strike between them to keep your life normal.
Advantages of being a home workaholic: If you run a home based business then everything depends on you and you need to be damn serious about your job. By being workaholic, you ensure that everything is taken care of and you don’t leave anything unattended or postponed for tomorrow. This way you save yourself from any kind of losses of long run problems. Apart from that, being workaholic means doing more work, having more clients and no wonder, making lots and lots of money.
Disadvantages of being a home workaholic: Being a home workaholic is a good thing and it can become a disadvantage only when you overdo it. By overdoing I refer to missing out on meals regularly, or eating too fast or skipping meals. Not socialize with friends or spending quality time with family members just chilling and relaxing. This can slowly build up to lead to stress and several stress related diseases would follow.
The human brain is like a machine, it needs to get refreshed and cleaned and charged to keep working well, and if your mind is well then your heart as well as body will also feel good. Therefore, strike a healthy balance between being a workaholic and the person who like relaxing to charge him/ her up.
