Can anyone tell me which professions of alternative medicine are regulated?

I need to find some info on which professions are regulated, state-by-state, as well as which of them are mandated and covered by insurance companies. Can anyone give me a website or some info. I tried National Center for Complementary and Alternative Medicine (NCCAM) but they had no direct info.

Most of what I found related to the UK which I think is not what you were looking for, but I did find this site with quite a comprehensive amount of research if you have the time and patience to go through it http://www.milbank.org/mraltmed.html

All health care professions in which a practitioner sees clients for the purpose of mediating a disease or health condition are regulated by each state. If you have to sit for a state exam to be licensed to “practice” you are regulated.

Very few insurance companies cover the cost of alternative or complimentary health. There is no incentive to do it. Thus patients who desire alternative approaches are put at a financial disadvantage because they have to pay all fees out of pocket.

Even alternative or complimentary health care that is preventive in nature, in most cases is not covered by insurance.
