Can you develope psoriasis or is it something you are typically born with?

For the past week or so my elbows have been itching like crazy. I’ve been putting aquaphor and eucerine on them, but nothing has helped. Tonight, after my shower, I noticed a patch of red, swollen, thick skin started to develope next to my elbow, and it is still extremely itchy. Does it sound like the beginning of psoriasis or could it be something else? What can I do to relieve the itch?

I have psoriasis, and this does sound a lot like it, but the only way you can be sure is to see a doctor. I too have problems with extreme itch, except my skin condition is on my feet. I suggest seeing a doctor because it’s the best thing I have done for my skin.

Keep using Aquaphor, it should help. Psoriasis is an autoimmune condition so it is something you’re born with but it can lay dormant. It’s also generic. I hope it feels better!
